CHRIS
grew up in Holderness, NH. A semester in rural Argentina during his
junior year of high school opened his eyes to the world. Graduating Phi
Beta Kappa in Hispanic Studies, Chris is interested in colonial studies.
He spent last summer as a cameraman/producer for The Wild World of
Summer, a New England cable TV sports show, and traveled to Venezuela to
produce a documentary on President Hugo Chavez.
MO grew up outside of Boston. Graduating with honors in Religion, she
recently completed a much-acclaimed thesis on the Catholic Church and its
role in the genocide in Rwanda. She has done extensive research on Rwanda
and has made many contacts with Rwandans. The group hopes to follow up on
this project with a film in Rwanda.
Born in Canada, MAGEE spent his
childhood in Eastern and Southern Africa. Attending high school in
Washington DC, and college in Hartford, Connecticut, Magee strives to
bridge the gaps between his childhood home and his current one. In 2001,
he won a fellowship to travel to the tiny kingdom of Swaziland, in
Southern Africa, where he directed, shot, and edited a short documentary
film on the advantages and disadvantages of a traditional monarchial
system of government in the modern world. The project opened his eyes up
to the world of documentary filmmaking. He recently completed his thesis
documentary on the links between griot (West African oral history
and storytelling) tradition in hip hop here in the United States.
